Hidden gem in oc. More like a locals bar, but the food was fantastic!!!!! Highly recommend the loaded fries with the signature beer cheese. Javi and Eric were great- love the crushes- had the creamciscle and lemon. Regulars were very welcoming. Perfect spot for having some drinks and catching up with friends- unpretentious. Definitely will return.

02/'26 Stopped in on a Sunday night when it was not busy. Bar service was excellent. We were greeted promptly & given a rundown of the menu including happy hour info. Had the crab-cake special which was highly recommended by the bar we'd previously left, but it was too salty for my liking. Pretzels were good. Smash burger was big & meaty. The loaded fries (my words-can't remember name) came with all kinds of good stuff & appeared to be fresh cut as they were kinda in curls, making them a miz of a crunchy fry and a thick cut potato chip. It was loud, but it is a bar :). Including a mixed drink and a beer, after tip, it was $80 for the two of us, even after happy hour proces on the drinks and pretzels. I'd prob order a little diffently based on that next time.

I live on 139th street and I’m so mad it took me this long to find out how great Taphouse Tavern is. First, we usually order carry out, every time I order, I get the most patient people taking my call. They let me know the off season specials and don’t rush me. I really really appreciate that. They are nice when you pick up the food and the food….. I love the burgers. I love love the Tapped Up fries!!! My son loves the chicken bites. Tonite we are trying the steak and cheese, 12$ off season special and I’m excited. I would definitely give taphouse tavern a try when you’re in town!! Oh the pasta salad is delicious too!
